Incoming - postcards

I had thought about posting all of the incoming mail in one big post - but then I figured that that might be slightly too much :)

So, I will split it up and show you the postcards I received while being away in North America first.

My dear brother happened to spend a few days in Florida with some friends as well - and knows his sister good enough to send her  a postcard :)
Surprisingly enough, a postcrossing card! The user wrote "I'm so sorry that I send this card so late" on the back of it, and apparently she drew my address back in March - but oh well, at least she sent it, right?

This is a picture sent by my cousin, showing Plaza Francia in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Incredible enough, I heard back from Ivo. He is a postcrossing contact from months back and spent five weeks in Tenerife.

One of my dearest penpals sent me this postcard she bought back in Rome from Heathrow Airport in London

My grandma and my godmother spent a week at the North Sea (in Germany, we have access to two seas) and they sent me this  card :)

A sendsomething card from Estonia

A lovely card from Steph who traveled France this summer! Merci beaucoup!

Of course I haven't been a lazy postcardwriter either - even though all of you will receive your postcards with a letter (ahem...) I made sure to send some back to family and also plenty to my boyfriend from almost everywhere I went. Oh, and also three postcards from Paris last week.

How have you been doing? And do you also have such a pretty september like we do?

Quick mail update.

Hello dears,
how are you doing? I'm pretty fine actually, I just had dinner with my boyfriend and after this post will read a bit and get my stuff ready (I'm heading to Berlin on thursday to a meeting and will stay there until saturday) and then sleep.

I just wanted to show you the last bits of mail that went through my hands...

There was this letter to Alex in the Philippines. I used an old paper bag for the envelope and would have loved to send it like that...
Letter bag
But of course we know that one cannot do that, so I had to seal the envelope with my new tapes :)
Back of the Envelope
I also finished my reply to Korina and sent that out, too.
Outgoings
I always feel the urge to describe the place the letter is going to if it's an unusual country, like Guam here. Do you feel the same? A post office worker once asked me where a specific country was so I feel safer specialising that...
Till Eulenspiegel stamp - I love that one! Till Eulenspiegel is a famous figure of German literature.

Another famous German invention - This stamp celebrates 125 years of the car. The patent from the firm Benz & Co. dates January 29, 1886 and is said to be the "birth certificate" of the car.

The next letter that went out was for my pal M. in the Netherlands. Her birthday is coming up, so apart from a letter I also sent her some extra stuff. What kind of things do you send your penpals for their birthdays? I found it a bit hard to find things flat and light enough to mail...
And a letter to my pal F. in Italy.

Letters to M. and F.
Of course I had to use that flag stamp for the letter for F... We'll see who wins tomorrow.
M. is being greeted by the congratulations-fishes :)
Suiting stamps for the letters...

Incoming of today!

After six weeks of travelling, I received a package from Nicole! So now we all know how long it can take if you don't put the airmail label on your envelopes...

Besides a dress which I'm actually wearing at the moment I received four AWESOME envelopes. Thank you so much! It will be really hard to part with these....
Envelopes from Nicole
More incoming of today: A letter all the way from Uganda! Such an awesome and interesting letter, I really look forward to getting to know that girl better.
Long letter from Uganda.
Oh and look at the stamps. I love animal stamps, I think they are the greatest...
Great stamps from Uganda
And the last incoming of today, a letter from Lucas, written with a fountain pen of course :)
Letter from Lucas
Lastly, here are the outgoings of tomorrow: A letter to Lucas, a postcrossing card and two "first postcards" to Sri Lanka.
Outgoing of tomorrow... many alps there :)
And lastly, the stamps I used today.

So, that's it from me. I sent many letters on the weekend which aren't shown on here, to Shelby, Laura, Patry, Anne, Bee and Jennifer. I hope they'll arrive soon :)

Take care all of you!

Catch up weekend

So, I did catch up on mail a bit this weekend...

This is what will be going out tomorrow:

Outgoing of tomorrow

First, a second try. Do you remember the great postcard Brittany sent me? Well, I don't know if she ever got my reply so I decided to take another try and made a new postcard to send to her. I hope this time it'll arrive safe!
Postcard to Brittany

Then, there's a letter to my host-sister in the US, with lots of congratulations.

It may not be for the color - but the stamp does fit to the letter :) Herzlichen Glückwünsch means Congratulations in German

I also finally replied to the letter from Rocio in Argentina. It always is a bit strange to switch from writing letters in English to writing letters in Spanish.

 And the stamp:
Fall-Stamp

I wanted to write to people in other areas than the US and Europe, as I mainly do until now. Don't get me wrong, I really do like all your letters and don't want to miss them, but I thought it might be interesting to write with persons from other continents, too. So I was looking for pen pals from Africa on Letternet and asked some registered girls there for their addresses and two already replied so I also wrote two letters to Kenya.

The first one is going to N.:

and the second one to B.
Letter to B.
I hope they'll get there safely! I am also wondering how long they'll take to get there....

You may have noticed that I rarely use the priority stamps for letters and postcards inside Europe or to the US - I feel it doesn't really make a difference. However, I hope they'll be of any good on these letters to rather "remote" areas. Do you have any "exotic" pen pals? Or, the other way round, are you an "exotic" pen pal to your pen pals?

The last thing to go out tomorrow is a birthday present for my boyfriends sister. The stamps are not on there yet because even if I am quite sure it'll be 2,20 € my boyfriend wants to check that at the post office tomorrow.

I don't know anything about the weekends mail, as I haven't been to the PO Box, but on friday I got this postcrossing postcard from Belarus. It's pretty good for being a postcrossing card :)

How was your weekend? Did you have sun? We didn't :(

Of Chocolate and Argentina among other things...

Finally a post on all the incoming mail of the last days! This post is not chronological, it's just the order I have the pictures on my camera...

Postcard from Sabrina
First, a postcard from Sabrina in Finland! I would love to go to Finland one day, it all seems so peaceful and quiet.... and I would love to see northern lights! Did anyone of you ever see northern lights?

postcrossing card from Russia
Next in the row is this postcrossing card I got from Russia. Sadly I don't understand any of it becauses it is all written in russian... oh well.

Postcard from the Netherlands
I got this postcard from a guy in the Netherlands, I sent him a postcard on postcrossing a few weeks ago and he decided to write back :)

Letter from M.
Also from the Netherlands, this lovely letter from M. She also sent a photo and some used stamps for my collection in that lovely little envelope you can see there!

Chocolate letter
Yum.... I got chocolate! Well, not really chocolate, but a letter wrapped in chocolate paper :) A good idea, don't you think? This letter was sent from Olivia.

postcard from Laura
I also got a postcard from Laura, a very nice one as I thought :)

Letter from Rocio
Then there was a letter from Rocio in Argentina!

Argentinian stamps
 Look at the lovely stamps!

Postcard showing the nightfall in the Calchaqui Valley, Salta, North-Argentina
Interesting enough, I got a postcard from Argentina on the exact same day, too! This one is from my dear cousin who spent some days in the north of Argentina. Isn't it beautiful? I so long to go to South America again....

Argentinian stamp
Once again a very nice stamp. Those two pieces of mail even got stamped on the same day! But they are from totally different corners of Argentina, so I am impressed they both made it here on the same day!

Make my day
Last, but not least, this little package from Bubbles.

Contents
And the contents! Three sheets of outline-stickers, a lovely little note and an extra, as it was easter! Chocolate! So nice! Thank you!

I hope you are all doing well. I finally handed in the paper I had to write yesterday, I am really glad that it's (almost) over now... I still have to prepare everything today to present it tomorrow, but at least I don't have to write anything anymore.

Lots and lots of pretty mail

Hello... I had written this a few days ago, but I had absolutely no time to add the pictures and post it. Here it is, finally.

Hello guys,
so, as I promised earlier today, here's my incoming mail from the last week. I was surprised at how much I got!
I came home from skiing on saturday night so I did go to check my P.O.Box in the early morning on sunday. I found so much!

The first thing to see was this package I got from Laura!
She surprised me with a lovely letter, some nice stickers, and above all, a really cute letterset! Isn't she an adorable girl?

A lovely letter set!

I also got a letter from Jennifer, who now already went to Germany. I will be sending her reply to the UK, but since she's not home anyways for 10 days or so, I don't have to stress me with replying haha.
Letter from Jen

Next on the stack was a nice letter from F., my spanish-speaking pen pal from Italy. She used some Diddl-paper. Do you guys like Diddl-paper? Because I still have LOTS of different sheets. I used to collect them when I was in primary school and we would swap in class. I think I have like maybe 100 to 200 different ones. I never counted ;-)

Letter from F.
I also got a postcard from L.
Postcard from L.
I got two postcrossing cards, too, one from China and one from Taiwan.

Don't they just have lovely stamps?

Another thing which didn't arrive to my P.O.Box, but to our mailbox were the postcards I sent my boyfriend from Turkey. FINALLY! They told me at the post office that they'd be here in a week... well, let's call it a month :)

That was all the mail I got on sunday. But monday also was a very good mail day! I had asked a friend of mine to check my P.O.Box on thursday and he did and gave me all the fun mail that I had gotten until then in class. The other students who were sitting around me were all "ooooh" and "aaaah" and "look at that!". Hehe.

I got this letter from Stephanie in the US.

Letter from Stephanie
It was filled with lots of great goodies! A long chatty letter, some magazine-articles and my first FB! Thank you so much Steph, a reply is on it's way to you!

How old is this stamp? I love it!
I also got another letter from Laura. It's amusing, because our letters always seem to cross in the air.

I got another postcrossing card, this time from Russia. I always waited to receive a postcard like that from Russia, and finally, here it is!

I also got mail from people I didn't know before, but who found my address on the Good Mail Day - Blog.

This AMAZING postcard from Brittany. I wish I'd be that talented!

I also got a letter from Mandy, who seems to be very creative, too!

So, that was the mail I got while being away for a week. Quite a lot, don't you think?

I hope you are all having a great week! What are your plans for the easter-holidays?

Take care and

alles Liebe,
