About me

Hello there!
I'm glad to know you want to know a bit more about me :)
Where to start...
I usually respond to Caddi, which has been my nickname for a decade or so. So feel free to call me that way :)
I'm 25 years old and live in Berlin, the capital of Germany, together with my boyfriend and our son. We are one of those couples that always have been together - at least it feels like it. We know each other from highschool and sports and started as best friends - you know, the old story :) I am very happy with him and he's the best person to exist on earth.
I study environmental law in a very very small university - there are maybe 2.500 students there in total and I love that it's so tiny. Even though being only two students in class sometimes is a bit... strange.
I love to travel, I really do! Even though I manage to spend at least a month yearly someplace else, it still feels as if I need to travel more. I wish I'd have lots of money so I wouldn't have to worry about that and could instead spend my time travelling. If you dream of travelling however - just do it! You don't need as much money as you think you need :)
I speak German, English and Spanish and I used to speak French - nowadays speaking it is a bit hard for me (I always mix it up with Spanish in my head), but I still understand most of what people are saying. I also studied Chinese for 2 years and even spent two weeks in a family in China, but I have no clue what people are saying. I would love to learn Arabic one day - I believe the language sounds and looks so pretty! I miss using Spanish on a daily base, I am already losing some of the language again :(
I love to read and have read at least 3.000 books so far. When I was a kid I would spend days (and nights actually) reading without a break. I remember checking out 46 books from the library for the winter holidays - and returning them all 2 1/2 weeks later after reading through every single one. I used to buy books from my pocket money as soon as I had enough. I usually give books as presents. I just think books are perfect :)
As you probably noticed, I also love mail. Actually - everything mail related. I collect stamps - they tell so many stories (and are so pretty!)! If you happen to have some spare ones you're about to throw away, please rather send them to me! I'll give them a good home. I love reading about other people's lives and hearing their stories. I love decorating the letters and everything that comes with it - have you ever heard of Washi Tape? Soooo great! And I love the friendships I made across the globe via letters.
I also love Project Life and have three Albums I'm working on - and more cards than I could possibly ever need :D
So now that you know me a bit - I'd love to get to know you! Leave a comment and introduce yourself or invite me over to your blog so that I can check it out. You might even send me something in the mail!
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Alles Liebe,

  1. Hey Caddi,

I was wondering if you could do me a favor. I know you're on vacation right now, so if you can get back to me I would appreciate it :)

Basically I would like to interview you for a research paper I am doing on German culture. I would like to get a first hand perspective from someone like me in Germany :)

Let me know what you think.

    1. Hey Laura,
I'll also be leaving a comment on your blog. If you are still doing that paper, you can of course interview me for it :) If you already had to hand it in, then I'm sorry for not being able to reply sooner.

  2. Hey Caddi,

The paper isn't actually due for three more weeks. I am having a hard time finding a lot of information on German culture :/

The paper is now a speech because I tend to do better on those, and I am a talker so I can just talk, talk, talk :)

I am going to send you an email here soon!

  3. Hey Caddi,

I tried to use the email on here, but it didn't work for me :(

    My email is annoyinglangers@hotmail.com :)

Hope to hear from you soon!

  4. I was wondering if you still are looking for pen pals.

    greets Lotte

  5. Hi Caddi,

I am getting in touch with you here because I can't find your email address anywhere - you have won my giveaway!
Get in touch with me over at the Idle Needle blog so I can get your postal address! I'll wait a couple of days, but after that I'll have to redraw the winner...
    Hope to hear from you.
    Best, Aniko

  6. *Wow*your life sound amazing! I just realised we have a few things in common hehe,I live in Spain,so if you want to practice Spanish you can ask me:) also I used to spend all my money in books, even though I haven't read as much as you I would have liked it...the only problem is that once I started reading I can't stop until I finish them,so until I fix that problem I won't be ablw to read many books until holidays. Now I am trying to read books in English so that I can practise,I like reading mangas and drawing. Crafting is also one of my hobbies. I can speak Spanish,Catalan ,English,a dialect of Chinese,a bit of French that is going to be forgotten, and I should be able to speak Chinese(mandarin) but I still have some problems while reading and remebering the characters, I might be able to read 500 characters(even though I am Chinese,I was born in Spain ,and I am 16) last year I started penpalling, and I also collect stamps and lots of things more like postcards, souvenirs and bookmarks...I don't know when I started to like them ,but I think that since I was small I liked them(the I found out that my parents were both part of "collecting stamps club" in China,I don't know how it ia called in English, but in Spanish I think is "filatelia".Washi tapes are great! even though I only have deco-tapes,which I bought in China, but next time I go,I am goung to find the washi tapes...hahah,Ah and I study music after school...it'd like studying two times high school(economics+music) I've been studying music for 9 years.:) I think that's it.I have a deviantart page, where I upload my drawings. It would be great to have. German penpal,or someone to do swaps...hehe,almost all my penpals are from USA. Me ha encantado tu blog. Donde yo vivo es una pequeña isla Ibiza:3

  7. Hi Caddie,

I'm your partner in the swap, "Not Your Country PC", you sent me the Paris postcard and also saw that you and I are the same age and have very similar likes. I'd like to have more penpals around my age so I'll be sending you a letter anytime soon! Hope it'll be okay!

  8. Hi Caddi!

Thanks for the reply on my blog! I think we'd make good friends haha! Wait for my letter then!

    x Din

  9. Hi Caddi,

I'm new to Penpalling and your blog! I love it so far! It's nice to have something to look forward to it the mail. I've got three different types of stationary and I've just ordered some Washi Tape and a few stickers and postcards. Seeing how people decorate their envelopes on various blogs is great, everyone is really creative!

    Morgan :)

Thanks for leaving your thoughts!
