Dear readers,
what kind of letters do you like?
I got some sweet letters last monday and I thought about the kind of letters I just love - so let me show you :)
I love letters which show that effort was put into making them pretty...
... which arrive in awesome airmail envelopes...
... and with lots of stamps...
... from places I only know very little about.
I love letters that take me to where the sender is and show me tidbits of their life...
... are at least medium length...
... provoke thoughts and discussions...
... are chatty and personal...
... and make me want to write back immediately!
So tell me,
what kind of letters do you love?
Alles Liebe,
Caddi
I love letters that I can feel they've been written with care, that the sender put all her soul in the letter. I love when they're LONG, and thought provoking, when they gave me some strong feelings... to sum up, when at the end of the letter, I'm like "what, already the end? I want more!!"
AntwortenLöschenHaha, I totally feel the same at the end of letters sometimes! And you are right, the tend to be the best ones :)
LöschenThat blue envelope is cute!:D
AntwortenLöschenAs for me, I love letters, wrote with soul and thought :)
Isn't it?
LöschenSo true! Letters who are superficial or written without thoughts are not that special...
I love your post!
AntwortenLöschenI like beautiful-looking letters, but the most important for me are the words. I prefer simply stationery, a lot of stamps, real news.
And I also love postcards, especially when the sender is really connected with the picture or explain a lot about it.
But, honestly, I love get all kind of mail... :)
Thank you!
LöschenJust like you, I love to get all kind of mail in the mail - but sometimes I'm a bit bummed if people just send a few sentences instead of a longer story. I usually end up confused - why would you spend so much money on sending so little content? So, the words are also the most important for me.
Postcards are great as well! I remember when a penpal from the Philippines included a postcard and suddenly I knew where her hometown is and how it looks like. So special!
Chatty and personal, these are my favorites. I like to feel like I'm actually having a conversation, and to feel that we're really interacting, that the person thinks of me as a real friend.
AntwortenLöschenI really like your post. :D
Thank you! I also like how it turned out :)
LöschenIsn't it great to know that someone considers you to be a friend even if you are seperated by thousands of kilometers? I have grown really close to some of my penpals :)
Letters that show some efforts from who wrote them are definitely the best, in my opinion. Letters should be sincere and written carefully. There nothing worst than a rushed letter, written in a hurry to be posted quickly. xx
AntwortenLöschenSo true!
LöschenI just checked out your blog, I hope you'll keep writing, I really like your way of handling the words!
I must admit, I love pretty letters too... But the content is far more important, that's why there is no point in just exchanging mail art for me... What I like to read in a letter is something that makes me understand that it was written for me and because of me. I love reading stories from someone's life and I'm the kind of person who prefers the 'trip to the next grocery store'-stories to 'trip around the world'-stories... Why? Because you mostly just get a summary of the big event, but I'm a huge friend of details... I like to learn something new from my friend. I want to know how much it costs to fly from New York to LA, I want to know what a Kenyan mum cooks for dinner, I want to know why it's important to know about the gases that surround it before you start to dig out a mineral... I want to share someone's passion. I want to stop and think about something I've never thought about. And I want to feel loved, across all the hundreds and thousands of miles that separate me from my friend...
AntwortenLöschenSuch a good point with the details being important!
LöschenJust like you, I believe that content is the most important thing, but if the letter is full of stories plus pleases the eye, it's a great bonus! One of my closest penpals actually always uses plain envelopes and her postoffice rarely carries stamps and I know she doesn't keep the envelopes she receives, but just the letter itself, but still it's always great to see her handwriting in my mailbox because I know I'll have a great read ahead.
Thank you so much for your great comment!
So, I randomly stumbled upon your blog tonight- what fun! :) Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy birthday too. Are you a Christmas babe? My birthday is Christmas Eve ;) Cheers!
AntwortenLöschenThank you! Kind of late, but yes, we do share the same birthday :) I hope you had a great one this time!
