I'm still active!

in the mailworld... just not that much in the blogging world :)

I'm still a bit behind on replying though, but only five letters now and I hope to get these out soon. I will have to get them out in the next three weeks though, because I won't be able to mail anything from early March to mid-April - were going on another holiday! If anyone has great tips for the Melbourne region or the West Coast of Australia, please do share them :) I'm willing to take advice on everything. I'd also love recommendations for road-trip-music!

I haven't taken many pictures of mail the past weeks and months, so sadly I don't have any to share. I did start a new mail project with a friend though, we are sending a Wreck this journal back and forth every two weeks and it's exciting to see what she comes up with :) I should get that again soon, so I will try to take a few pictures of that book. So far it's great fun!

I'm back home :)

Liebe Leser,

I'm back again! Costa Rica was great and lots of fun - we went on a lot of hikes, saw many monkeys, birds, insects and even some sloths, went swimming in the ocean (oh how I missed it) and enjoyed our holidays. I'm still having a bit of a jetlag and a weird eating rythm, but I know that it'll be back to normal in a few days.

I received some mail while I was away and actually already started responding! So tomorrow, I'll send out four letters and a postcard. I don't have any pictures on the computer right now, so that will have to wait...

On other news, we are getting ready for the move, which will probably happen this weekend.

Getting ready to leave...

So tomorrow our journey begins. We have packed clothes, a flashlight, sun cream and bathing suits. We know where we'll stay the first nights and roughly where we want to go. We found a new apartment and will sign the lease tomorrow. We're ready to go!

During the last days I managed to write a bit of mail and am currently still writing more. I sent out two packages, two postcards, six letters and will send another four letters and two postcards tomorrow - maybe even more if I manage to write fast :)

Here is some of the mail I sent out during these days:

A letter travelling to a penpal here in Germany. I love the stamp here as well as the Janosch-stamp I used on Lauras letter.

So... what is left to do? I'm already quite excited, let me tell you that :) Do you have any traditions, what do you do before you leave for a trip? Personally, I learnt from my mother to clean everything and leave it nice and tidy, so that you don't come back into a mess.

I hope you're having a great month so far, enjoy the rest of it as well! Oh, and may I ask you a favor? If you were going to send me something, can you hold it until April? I'd rather have it in your hands than in my PO Box - you never know, you know?

Places I'll go - Costa Rica

Currently I'm dreaming a lot of travelling.

As you might know by now, my boyfriend and I are leaving for Costa Rica in March. Even though it won't be a long holiday (I'm convinced that 2 1/2 weeks are actually way to short), I am already so much looking forward to it!

I still have to wait a whole month before getting everything ready for our travels (we are leaving Germany on the 16th), but I already started dreaming with pictures I found online.

While looking for pictures of Costa Rica, I also found many other pictures of places I want to see as well - caves in Greece, mountains in Japan, beautiful cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, castles all across Europe, ruins of the pre-Columbian time in Latin America, waterfalls in Iceland... To be honest, I started a folder with beautiful images of places I will one day see and explore.

But I have to take one step at a time. So right now I'm mostly dreaming of Costa Rica.

And while I'm there, I will make sure to enjoy the pleasures this country has to offer. I'm looking forward to lots of nature, to good food and kind people.

But as soon as I'm back - I'll start dreaming of my next adventure.
