Here in Catalonia (Spain) we celebrate the World Book Day too, but based in the legend of St. George :) Girls get roses from guys and guys get a book from girls (but most of people just buy books from themselves, haha). I bought myself 4 books this year lol, but as one of my teachers said... "You never spent too much money on books!" :) Claudiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13596453472307767173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730284892418965319.post-34658361479924284542013-04-23T22:26:30.837+02:002013-04-23T22:26:30.837+02:00I didn't know about book day! I'm an avid reader as well, and even though I haven't read all the books on my bookshelves, I keep on buying more... I can't resist an appealing cover!<br />By the way, it's nice to see you around again, Caddi! :)Tarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00894158163256128100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730284892418965319.post-27320729447130395552013-04-23T22:05:25.181+02:002013-04-23T22:05:25.181+02:00Haha we did the same thing actually in the last fl...Haha we did the same thing actually in the last flat! We now store our university books in a different shelf, so I hope we won't need to resort to that too soon... :)Caddihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02023813911383989084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730284892418965319.post-9095989371822609942013-04-23T21:58:15.889+02:002013-04-23T21:58:15.889+02:00What a beautiful bookshelf! I hope you celebrate today by reading on your favorite place. :)Pennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14184736878111760197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730284892418965319.post-81159918396522304962013-04-23T20:53:33.193+02:002013-04-23T20:53:33.193+02:00I didn't know that! I supposed that it was worldwide because the UNESCO organizes it - but now that I think about it, we have another book day in May here in Germany.<br />I just checked on the English Wikipedia site, because I was interested and it says: "In the United Kingdom, World Book Day is held annually on the first Thursday in March, to avoid the established international 23 April date due to clashes with Easter school holidays, and the fact that it is also the National Saint's Day of England, St George's Day."<br />Take care!<br />Caddihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02023813911383989084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3730284892418965319.post-42397879878996414742013-04-23T20:46:23.573+02:002013-04-23T20:46:23.573+02:00In England, World Nook Day is celebrated on the fi...In England, World Nook Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in March. Isn't it weird that it ends up being called World, instead of a selected few countries.Bubbleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11969241757724716562noreply@blogger.com
